Words By Kim is a web site optimization service that focuses on writing the content of your web site with a view to making your pages rank in search engine results.

There are a range of other things you will need to do to get maximum rank with the search engines but wordsbykim.com is not able to offer those services.  They include the design and creation of your website itself together with its links and html codes.

Wordsbykim.com specialises in writing the copy for your web pages in a way that will include enough instances of your keywords to help you get rankings for them but my web site optimization service includes more than that.

I have a BA with a double major in journalism so the copy I write for you will contain the required number of keywords plus the following desirable attributes:
•    Correct spelling
•    Good punctuation
•    Suitable grammar
•    Clear and easily understood writing
•    Easy to read writing
•    Maximum impact sentences
•    Minimum repetition apart from keywords
•    Attention to the psychological impact of words and sentences
Correct spelling
Most people know there, their and they’re exist but many are not sure which of their words belong here or there and they’re often not fussy enough to care.  Another tricky word distinction people are often unsure of is to and too.  I pay attention to the little things and I’m particular with big things too.

Good punctuation

Many writers, because they let their sentences get out of control, find it hard to decide where the punctuation belongs.  I control my work.  If punctuation isn’t meeting the rules I rewrite the sentence until it does.

Suitable grammar
Good grammar results in writing that is easy to understand and easy to read.  Writing that is easy to read and understand gets results.

Clear and easily understood writing
Good grammar, punctuation and spelling all contribute to good writing but they don’t make it easy to understand.  Possessing a good vocabulary helps but, again, won’t make the work easy to understand.  To make writing easy to understand you need to know people.  You need to know what you can expect people, all people, to know already and what you need to explain.  You also need to know how to explain without making the reader feel patronised.
Easy to read writing
Convoluted, poorly phrased or paraphrased punctuated or poorly period endowed epics that go on and on without saying much at all, however, might make sense to some people but most will labour to follow the train of creative thought contained therein and may become weary or lose concentration … is the point coming across?

I make things easy to follow, easy to read, easy to understand and that means people end up reading more.

Maximum impact sentences

Take another look at what I wrote in the easy to read section.  Both sentences are saying much the same thing but only one is likely to have an impact on the reader.

Minimum repetition apart from keywords
I have a large vocabulary.  This means I have a range of choices for each word I want to use.  Because of that I do not need to repeat myself as much as people with smaller vocabularies have to.

Attention to the psychological impact of words and sentences
My training in journalism allows me to use the right words to get the message across. My psychological training gives me insight into the impact those words are likely to have on readers.

If I say “I bumped into another car” you will imagine a much less serious collision than if I say “I smashed into another car”.  If I say “When you need the best you need me” you will have a less favourable reaction than if I said “When you want the best you want me”.   Most people react better to being viewed as wanting something than to being seen as needing it.
